About the laboratory

A reference lab built around the treatment decision

Rising Tide is a CLIA-certified molecular reference laboratory. We run PCR-based infectious disease panels and return them fast — because a result that arrives after the clinical decision has already been made helps no one.

Culture has anchored infectious disease diagnosis for a century, and for many questions it still does its job. But for a clinician deciding how to treat today, waiting days — or, for fungal organisms, weeks — is its own kind of answer: the patient is treated empirically, or not at all, and the culture confirms what was guessed long after it could have changed the plan.

We built Rising Tide to close that gap. Multiplex PCR identifies pathogens and resistance markers directly from the specimen, and we report within 24 hours of receipt. Just as important, we don't stop at detection — results are reviewed so that what reaches the ordering provider is interpretable, not just accurate.

What we stand on

Certification

CLIA-certified

All testing is performed under our CLIA certification. Our panels are laboratory-developed tests, validated in-house with performance characteristics determined by our laboratory.

Method

Multiplex PCR

Molecular detection of pathogens and resistance markers, capable of resolving polymicrobial specimens that culture can obscure.

Speed

24-hour reporting

Results are reported within 24 hours of specimen receipt, across all six panels, on a single consistent standard.

Interpretation

Pharmacist-reviewed

Through our partnership with Advanced Therapeutic Assist, bacterial results are reviewed by PCR-specialized clinical pharmacists who provide practical therapy guidance.

The name

Why "Rising Tide"

A rising tide lifts every vessel in the harbor at once. Better, faster diagnostic information does the same for the people who depend on it — the clinician choosing a therapy, the patient waiting on an answer, the health system carrying the cost of the guess. The ship's helm at the center of our mark is deliberate: our work is not only to detect, but to help steer what happens next.
